Background
Greenhouse Creative selected bite to join them in a tender for a web portal project for Manchester Council. We undertook a joint presentation, with Greenhouse presenting their expertise in creative and design work and bite presenting the ´backend´ technical solution, case studies of similar work and project management expertise of working with outside agencies to provide a seamless solution. After a rigorous vetting and tender procedure, Manchester Council opted for this ´Best of Breed´ option and selected the Greenhouse/bite partnership to provide a portal web site to enable communication between the diverse members of the Manchester Partnership project and the public.
Solution
Greenhouse provided the branding, creative and print solutions. Bite project managed the overall job and integrated Greenhouse´s graphics, to provide Manchester Partnership with a Content Management System (CMS), forum, secure document upload facility and news update facility which allows the entire website to be constantly updated, news to be published by the administrator of the website and documents to be shared in a secured password protected area. A complex navigation system was devised to combine the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) with visual branding considerations.
Outcome
Through our partnership with Greenhouse we were able to draw on a wealth of experience, case studies and resources. The website has been a great success by enabling the Manchester Partnership to communicate easily with the public and to provide partner members with access to secure documents, news and events and has generated a great deal of positive feedback from users, so much so, that this has led us to recommended for other Council LSP projects.
