IE8 Soon to be Released
Date: 27.01.2009What will IE8 be like? After two beta versions Microsoft launched a third version this Monday, which is rumoured to be the final one. The new version will offer greater web safety and improved user friendliness are the key features of the eighth edition. Microsoft are using this new version to get back its lost market shares which have mainly been lost to Mozilla Firefox, but also Safari and Opera.
What's new? The latest beta of Windows Explorer 8 incorporates a list of compatible websites the browser works best. Other improvements include private browsing, enhanced security as well as handy add-ons or accelerators. Safety is a big issue. The Internet Explorer 8 is equipped with a cross-site scripting filter and other features that prevent from clickjacking.
Web standards. Microsoft finally says good bye to being incompatible with some common standards. The new IE8 supports all advanced standards (CSS 2.1). IE8 also takes care about websites and applications designed for older IE versions and makes them compatible with current standards. Windows 7.
Microsoft is developing a separate version of IE8 for Windows 7. Hachamovitch said: “Windows 7 enables unique features and functionality in Internet Explorer 8 including Windows Touch and Jump Lists which require additional product tests. Microsoft will continue to update the version of Internet Explorer 8 running on Windows 7 as the development cycles of Windows 7 progress.” In general the new web browser will run on Vista and Windows XP (SP2).
