Twitter and Google in talks of SEO deal
Date: 16.10.2009The SEO Manchester team have just heard about possible talks between Google, Microsoft and Twitter that would see posts from the social networking giant published in a search results feed that would change the way SMEs approach search engine optimisation and internet marketing forever.
Twitter was founded in 2006 and currently has 54 million users a month, they have completely revolutionising the digital world of social networking and are now looking to change the internet marketing world. The prospective deal, which could include a payment of several million dollars to Twitter and a revenue deal, would see Twitter maintain its independence.
Search engine optimisation expert Chris Thomas said the deal would change the way SMEs approach search engine optimisation because the search engines would have access to an enormous number of new pages to use for search results. He believes that any deal between the two companies would make sense, as Google has been responding to Twitter's popular "real-time" search capabilities by updating its search filters to be faster and more relevant.
Executives at Twitter, Microsoft and Google have so far made no comment about the reports.
