Is Google Under Threat?
Date: 31.08.2010Recent reports show that Google have 66% of the search engine market. However, with the recent merger of Bing/Yahoo! and the continuing development of other global search engines, should Google feel under threat that they could be knocked of the the top spot anytime soon?
Over the past few years we have seen the development of new technologies and strategies when it comes to search engine optimisation. Companies, such as our SEO London team, continually improve and incorporate new SEO techniques to keep up with current trends such as increase in popularity of social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. However the question is arising as to whether the main players in SEO stay uncontested or should individuals and companies switch their allegiances to other search engines.
Google have always stated that they are aware that “competition is just one click away”. One possible serious competition to Google is foreign language search engines, such as Baidu and Yandex. Ultimately it is the user that will hopefully win. As search engines continue to compete for your business they will continue to improve technology, this in turn will provide the user with a quality product and more importantly a choice of search engines.
