Google Take on Facebook?
Date: 17.09.2010If predictions ring true, Google could soon be launching its own social networking site in the near future. Rumours are based on remarks made by Google representatives at a press conference in Arizona early this week.
In March this year Facebook announced that it had passed Google as the most visited website in USA. If Google want to be a strong contender they need to introduce new and original social features in order to take on Facebook. Google's recent attempts at social networking include Buzz and Orkut but neither have affected Facebooks hold.
Commercial Director of Facebook, Stephen Dolan, confirmed that “Google is expected to start a fairly significant social-media platform”. OurSEO London team suggest that if Google is to launch a social networking site Facebook could face some serious competition. Early social sites include Friendster, MySpace, Linkedin and Bebo. Facebook was launched in 2004 and it has gone on to be phenomenally successful.
