4 Mistakes that can be caught out by Panda
Date: 20.01.2012By Jordan Southern
After the Panda update on the 19th of December, some websites have had their SERP's drastically cut or risen on particular keywords due to content, even the little bits of contents affected many sites, so here are the 5 bits of content that affects your sites most:
1. Outer site content duplication If you use SEO and spread your content across different domains no matter who the site belong too, but if any duplicates found through the variety are discovered by Panda, Google will most probably hit your site hard via search positions. The best way to avoid this is by simply making every article unique with its own different keywords.
2. On site Content duplication This is just simply a basic error that can easily be resolved but people are too lazy to do anything about, duplicate content on their sites, for example, for one of your categories you write about a sub-category inside that one, and then you use the similar text you used on the category page on the sub-cat. page. The best thing to do is go through your site and check every single piece of content on your site and remove/edit the content, keep it as unique as possible.
3. Google search into another search Large sites which are mainly E-commerce sites simply store pages and internal search results. Google doesn't like that one bit; the main reason is because they want the searcher to find a relevant page instead of going straight onto another search page.
4. Low copy density As we have seen in some sites in the past (I'm sure you have come across it at some point) that have repeated Images, Megafooters…etc. The only reason that Panda does this, is to the fact that could be quality content but those signals indicate a source of low-quality, it may not be true but Google sees it this way.
Follow these steps and you'll be one step closer to regaining your SERPs, if I find any more info I shall update it.
